Ballerina Review
John Wick is one of my favorite film franchises and I was very happy to hear that they’re expanding its universe. With so many fascinating characters it was not if, but when were we going to get that “spinoff.” I’m happy to say its here.
I was able to catch an early screening of the latest entry into the John Wick world, Ballerina. It goes without saying that this film’s action and fight sequences are up to par. Ana de Armas thrives and is an absolute badass in this film.
The film’s first 30 or so minutes is slow paced as you’d expect as it gives you the backstory and builds up to the Eve (Ana de Armas) we see in the trailers. Once we get past all of that its just non stop action and it is fantastic. The way they introduced John into the story was pretty funny and perfect timing.
All in all I loved the movie. It is exactly what you’d expect as it is part of the John Wick world with a couple familiar faces as well as a few new faces. I just know that I hope they continue to build this world up and dive into the other characters stories.
