Sinners Review
Hands down, this has to be movie of the year. I’ve looked ahead and I just don’t know that anything coming out will compare to it. Sure, there will be those blockbusters that get a much bigger box office but the way this movie was written and shot, I just don’t see anything coming close at the moment. I could always be wrong and another film could come out of nowhere, but only time will tell.
First off, if you haven’t seen this movie yet, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!?!?! All I can say is WOW! As soon as I left the theater, I just knew that I wanted to watch it all over again, and for me, I haven’t felt that way since Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse came out in theaters a couple years ago.
Ryan Coogler, the entire cast, and crew of this movie deserve a standing ovation. Originally, when the trailers dropped for this movie, wasn’t too sure what to expect from it but knew it was something I had to absolutely see.
From the start it gets you invested as the opening scene of the movie has Sammie on screen looking like he had just left one heck of a bar fight and immediately I began to wonder WTF happened? The character development/background throughout the film, albeit short, gives you just enough to care for them as the story progresses. It really is just such a masterpiece of a film that you have to go see. The score along with the how the scenes were shot just look amazing. And the performances by everyone were truly spectacular. So do yourself a favor and find your local theater and get tickets to go see it! I promise, it is worth it!
